New York Wrestler Critique of the Week 1/04/10

The following critique is of the wrestler wearing GREEN.

You do a good job of hustling and being ready on the whistle don’t ever change that mind set when competing!

1. You should have a stance that is proper based on your height.  When your opponent is out of his stance you feel the need to come out of your stance to attack a tie up.  Work on fakes to set up shots if you feel a guy is too tall for you.

2.  Don’t make shots harder than what they are if you can attack a leg and get it off the mat then get it up and make that guy hop on one foot.

Top:

1.  You tend to get your head sitting on your opponents shoulder when riding.  Stay back under the arms and pressure your shoulder against your opponents shoulder when trying to kill his base.

2. You like to ride legs but you want them in so bad that your getting out of position and getting in trouble.  Find a riding style that works best for you and allows you to get to your legs without getting in trouble.  Please see the following videos: legs in from all breakdowns drill, leg riding series

3.  You missed a nice Turk for three when your opponent stood up.  Not sure why you missed it was there for the taking!  Please see the following videos: drop in the crotch lift to turk
